I've had a lot going on with my life (including performing in Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Pirates of Penzance"). But I'd like to tell you all about a game for the DS I recently came across that debuts this fall: Scribblenauts. It was a huge sleeper hit, or great game that came out of the blue at E3, a prominent gaming convention. It's very difficult to explain the game's potential, but I'll give you a brief explanation. Via the DS' touch screen you control the hero, Maxwell, through a series of levels collecting "Starite". The twist is via the touch screen, you can write the name of an object. Any object. And it will appear. If there is Starite on top of a tree, you could write "beaver", have it cut down the tree, and get the Starite. To me, at least, this is pretty mind-blowing. Here’s a link to the IGN article for the game. Just think how much money Google is making...do you get a cut of any of that? Today, I'll be explaining the best way to get A TON of swagbucks. To keep Swagbucks free and giving out prizes, those who run it have to be creative in their advertising. They need a way to spend as little as possible while still drawing people to the website. The solution: referrals. Users of Swagbucks (AKA Swaggernauts) are given the option of promoting Swagbucks. But don't worry: there's something in it for us, too. For each person who signs up under your very own referral link,. you get a portion of the swag they accumulate. In fact, if you refer one person, you can get up to 100 swag bucks! For each swag buck your referral gets, you get one, too! Here's what a referral link looks like:

http://swagbucks.com/refer/yourswagname

You pick your swag name when you sign up. It functions as a username on Swagbucks. You can also get banners (like the one on the end of this post) on Swagbucks that contain your referral link. I'll break down how referrals work for you. Hypothetically, say you refer five people using your referral link.

HNS#1 (Happy New Swaggernaut Number One) is very enthusiastic and excited to be using Swagbucks. They begin using it instead of their previous search engine of choice and get about 50 swag bucks in several weeks. However, they then go on vacation, and after being away from the computer for several weeks, they forget all about it.
AMOUNT: 50

HNS#2 is either reluctant to try the site because "it's a scam" or they're just lazy. But regardless of the reason, that's a big ol' zip.
AMOUNT: 0

HNS#3 is diligent and uses Swagbucks every day. After about 3 months (a realistic amount), he or she gets you the max amount for a referral.
AMOUNT: 100

HNS#4 never so much as tries Swagbucks for reasons similar to #2.
AMOUNT: 0

HNS#5 tries the site to make you happy. Most commonly, these are family members or close friends. They never really give it a chance, but at least he or she nets a few swag bucks.
AMOUNT: 5

TOTAL: 155
AVERAGE: 31

I hope this has helped show you how useful referrals can be. To sign up for swag bucks, you can click the banner below (I need referrals, too!)

Next time I talk about Swagbucks, I'll be letting you all know some great ways to get referrals. At long last, I'm here to tell you about my all-time favorite website. It's paying for my Christmas presents, and it could pay for your vacation. That site is swagbucks.com. It was my reason for making this blog in the first place. I'll break this powerful search engine down for you in a few simple steps.
1) Sign up:
It's quick and easy. Just click on the banner below to get started. IMPORTANT: To start with two extra swag bucks when you sign up, type CASHISKING (in caps) when it asks for a SwagCode. This is a limited time offer, so hurry!

2) Search:
Just use Swag Bucks like any other search engine. Overusing it will do you no help. In a very short while, you will...

3) Earn:
If you're an instant winner, you'll see a message pop up that looks like this:
http://tinyurl.com/mzvs6o
Winning is random. You DO NOT increase your chances by "spam searching" or searching random things every second. I typically win 2-3 times a day.

4) Spend:
The fun part. Use those not-so-hard-earned swag bucks to pick up something nice. The prizes range from comic books to game systems; from airline miles to amazon.com gift cards (my personal favorite.) You can even get cold, hard cash with the new addition of PayPal gift cards. The prospects are endless. And it's all free.

Well, that's the gist of it. In the future, I'll be talking about other ways you can maximize your swaggage. Thanks for coming, and join me next time at freerex!

Alright, I know I don't exactly have a huge band of readers yet, but you may have seen my previous post about one of my favorite games. That would be Plants versus Zombies. The game is passive tower defense style. For those unfamiliar with the phrase, it means that you set up some set of force to deflect an invasion. The fact that it's passive simply means that once a tower is set up, it does the work for you. Well, anyway, the objective of the game is to guard Crazy Dave's (more on him later) house from a zombie invasion. There are over 40 different plants to choose from to stop the onslaught, with almost as many different kinds of zombies. Each plant and zombie has a distinct type of ability, from guarding your plants (the "wall-nut") to flying over your plants (the balloon zombie). My favorite part of this game, though, is probably diverse game play. The game contains: Adventure, Mini-games, Puzzles, Survival, and Zen Garden modes. You can also purchase a variety of items from Crazy Dave's shop. Now for thing that should catch your interest. The free part! At Popcap's website (this is the developer of the game, by the way), PvZ costs a whopping $19.99! But after a little searching, I found some other deals that may interest you.
1) Website: Gamehouse
Alright, honestly, I'm not very familiar with this website. They offer the (pretty much standard) trial version of 1 hour free. But with that, you can really only get a taste of the game. They also offer the game for as low as $5.99 with a "funticket". I tried looking into what this really means, but it wasn't really very straightforward. However, it seems to me that this site uses a paid membership program, and funtickets allow you to purchase games. It seems like a good deal to me, but only if you're a true gamer, and you're going to be getting a lot of these games. I would recommend this site to hardcore gamers only.
2) Website: Realarcade
Okay, at first glance, at least, this seems like the best option. This website offers a free trial in which you get one free game. After that, for $9.99 a month, you get one game a month, plus discounts on many others. The reason that this is such a good deal: you can cancel after the first month and keep your free game. This way you don't have to pay a dime. I would recommend this site to more casual gamers.
3) You could always just buy the game from the developed. I would recommend this to those who don't want to deal with the hassle of all of these subscriptions.
Well, I hope I've been somewhat of a help. (At least for me) this has been one long entry. Not to go back on my word, but come here next time for a first look at my favorite way to get stuff for free online.
